Michael Buble is working again with David Foster and Humberto Gatica
Jazz singer Michael Buble is working again with David Foster and Humberto Gatica for his next album. They will start to record it in May and the album will be released later on David Foster own label Imprint 143 Records.
The CD may be included a duet with young U.K. crooner Jamie Callum and maybe John Stevens (from American Idol) as a guest. Źródło: board.michaelbuble.com/index.php?showtopic=1076

quote: This kid can really swing.
That, in a nutshell, sums up the extraordinary appeal of a 25 year-old Vancouver vocalist with a gift for making some of the greatest songs of all time entirely his own.
His name is Michael BublÄĹ (pronounced Boo-blay) and the evidence of his singular swingness is on abundant display with his irresistible new Reprise/ 143 Records debut album. More than a tribute to the gold standard of music's most enduring songs; more than a homage to a bygone era of songwriting and performing: the thirteen tracks of Michael BublÄĹ announce in no uncertain terms the arrival of a major new talent with a flair for infusing the familiar and beloved music with a fresh, original and utterly unique sensibility entirely his own.
Michael BublÄĹ can, indeed, swing.
It's a precocious fondness... Źródło: board.michaelbuble.com/index.php?showtopic=246

âœItâÂÂs Timeâ ( 143 Records/Reprise)
2 1/2 stars
Buble has the kind of good looks and smooth sound that could easily place him at the front of a Top 10 boy band. His choice to instead join the young revivalists of the Great American Songbook has earned him attractive record sales and a devoted following. But he hasnâÂÂt yet displayed anything that can be described as an authentic musical identity.

"I threw myself into the music full time when I was 17, though I kept going out to sea in the summertime until I was 21. I put out independent albums in Canada. I tried living in L.A. for a while. This thing hardly happened overnight."
Finally, one important fan and co-admirer of classic pop, former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, introduced Buble to David Foster, a noted music producer and label owner ( 143 Records).
Foster took Buble under his wing, as did another Canadian, Paul Anka, who executive-produced a couple of tracks that wound up on Buble's American debut album on 143.
"It was validating for Anka to get behind me," Buble said. "Tony Bennett, Kelly Smith and the widows of Sinatra and [songwriter] Sammy Cahn have also been generous in expressing their support. With a growing group of younger artists doing this music - Norah Jones,... Źródło: board.michaelbuble.com/index.php?showtopic=632

Listeners will swear they catch Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney or yes, even Elvis, among the chords and the smooth voice of Buble.
Yes, it's swing music, but presented boldly with a unique flair that is sure to attract the attention of anyone who appreciated the "good ol' days."
Buble certainly took Canada by storm and was introduced to multi-Grammy winning producer David Foster of 143 Records through Reprise, according to www.michaelbuble.com.
From there on out, it was smooth sailing for Buble as he worked on his self-titled debut. The pair worked hard to capture a "spirit and energy that wasn't confined to any particular music era."
The result: an energetic mix of piano, vocals and big band sounds and a unique, romantic masterpiece. Źródło: board.michaelbuble.com/index.php?showtopic=25

The next day Michael received a phone call from the man saying that he worked for the then Canadian Prime Minister, Brian Mulroney. Brian Mulroney, was a fan, and his daughter was getting married and he wanted Michael to sing at the wedding. When he sang 'Mack the Knife' at the wedding, high-flying producer David Foster happened to hear him and Michael was signed to David Foster's 143 Records in the spring of 2001.
Heading into the recording studio, Michael knew he wanted to stick to classic songs, but didn't want to do a tribute album. The resulting self-titled album ended up mixing perennial hits such as 'Fever' and 'For Once in My Life' with later classics such as the Bee Gees song 'How Can You Mend a Broken Heart'.

She's sitting on the couch, in the Burnaby home of BublÄĹ 's grandparents, where the music really began. She sweeps dark tresses from a strikingly beautiful face. It's not always easy, she concedes. "I have my moments. I think the lucky thing is we've known each other for so long. He's good. He makes an effort to make sure I know it's all good."
That effort includes It's Time (Reprise/ 143 Records), to be released on Feb. 8, in time for Valentine's Day; BublÄĹ calls it "Debbie's record." It's the follow-up to his debut CD, Michael BublÄĹ , a collection of standards that's sold an impressive three million copies and made him a hot international property. The endless touring also, for a time, broke up his relationship with Timuss. It's Time is about putting things right. The CD is intensely personal and more unfettered than the... Just found this in the Monterey Herald.
Time-traveling crooner Michael Buble swings like a vintage Bobby Darin, backed by a roaring band, on "It's Time" (Reprise/ 143 Records). Available in 13-track and "special" 15-track editions, the love-focused set alludes to influences Ray Charles ("You Don't Know Me"), Frank Sinatra ("Foggy Day in London Town," "I've Got You Under My Skin") and Darin (on the 15th track "Mack the Knife"). MICHAEL BUBLEĂ´
Self titled ( 143 Records/Warner):
Wow. Having no idea who this guy was, this debut CD was a real awakening. With a smooth-as-silk baritone voice, BublÄĹ brings us a collection of classic hits with huge orchestral productions â compliments of producers extraordinaire David Foster, Humberto Gatica and Johnny Mandel. ThereâÂÂs no new material here, but thatâÂÂs OK. The 25-year-old Vancouver singer brings his own style to the 13 tracks. BublÄĹ takes us back to...
