Temat: CO2 Hurts Reef Growth- Dissolves Reefs It's such a new field that there IS very little, sometimes no research published. It's insane. I'd really like to explore that for my science fair project... Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=5567

Temat: Dyed fish to remain legal It was in a magazine (a general science magazine), and it was title something like "Pain in Fishing". I'll see if I can find the article somewhere. My science fair project was about testing fish intelligence and problem soving ability, and comparing it to other animals such as dogs and cats.
And yes, the fishes are cool Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=1598
Temat: Plankton Image Library You're welcome... good luck with plankton. I have a few hints that I've discovered over the past 2 years. 1. don't put the microalgae grow in the water for at least 2 days, but no more than 4 days after you put the plankton it. 2. Let the bleach bubble out of the water for at least 2 weeks... any less than that, and you run the risk of killing your plankton. That's all I can think of for now... (Oh yeah, and they don't do so hot under UV-B rays... my science fair project...) Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=298
Temat: Those microsoft error hikous aren't that funny at 11:30PM Good luck with the science fair project. I had a project that was due once and I lost all my data but I got it back.
Ask your parents for a new computer for Christmas or your birthday. The newer the technology, the faster it goes. Tell your parents about your problem with your current computer and tell them that it almost cost you a Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=4552
Temat: Pacific vs. Atlantic mercury content For my science fair project this year I am testing whether fish from the Pacific or the Atlantic have higher mercury content. What are your theories on this? Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=7741
Temat: Your ideas for global warming? sorry i had to play with the new icons. LOL
Lol... did you read my story?
How do we know that the Sodium Bicarb wouldn't hurt the environment before it bound to carbon dioxide? Hey! Maybe I'll do that for my science fair project next year! Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=2423
Temat: Ozone hole matches record size *disclaimer*: I'm not happy about the larger ozone hole...
Yay! They are starting to realize that too much UV is dangerous to the "tiny plants" at the base of the food "chain". My whole science fair project last year was about what UV rays did to phytoplankton... The results weren't pretty! UV rays could mess up the atmosphere and phytoplankton pertty badly. And that would be very ugly. Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=3057
Temat: First Dive? My first dive (during training) was in a lake... I have to say, first off, that I've never had the chance to dive in saltwater, and can't wait to try, but probably won't get to do so until april vacation... february vacation is the week where I put together my science fair project (about uv and phytoplankton productivity)
So, on my first dive, I saw a submerged bike, a turtle, and a "big" fish (about 18" long) My 2nd dive was a bit more fun... it was also in a lake, but we dove a big wreck and saw lots of cool fishes... but I also discovered that lake Michigan has a really strong thermocline, and that my lips turn blue in anything under 55 degrees F... my dive group couldn't go down below 42 feet, because I couldn't... Temat: Saving Plankton? I like this topic
Last year i did my science fair project on plankton and found them fascinating. In my opinion your right Kleophon, plankton should be getting more er... attention for lack of a better word.
However, the trophic animals are endangered therefore are watched carefully. Another reason this problem is not popular is because people aren't aware that they are killing plankton. They are micro or macroscopic and most people think of that character on spongebob whenever someone mentions... Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=4645
Temat: Common Sea Squirts Could Help Clean Up Lagoon But you see, the problem with sea squirts is that they cover EVERY available space. In the article I read, they colonized every surface in the tank, including the underside of the top of the water... I can't think of anything else to add to that enclosure. (Maybe that'll make a good science fair project...) Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=2611
Temat: Science Fair So you all know that I had this HUGE science fair project that was killing me for the past few months? (And more in the last 3 weeks, because it was due at the school's science fair on Tuesday... at 4. I had it in place, complete at 3:55...) Anyhow, the awards ceremony was today, and after 2 years of pretty decent projects and not winning anything, I figured that this project, which wasn't as good, was going to be like the other 2. But it wasn't. I WON something... I got $50 for my work with solar power and battery... Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=4608
Temat: Those microsoft error hikous aren't that funny at 11:30PM Not at all: school does not devour the entire day. Even if it ends at 4 p.m., that still leaves a good 4 hours a day that could be devoted completely to a science fair project. Sweet dreams! I am off to bed myself. Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=4552
Temat: Warbling Whales Speak a Language All Their Own ...language... just like each region of humans... and each pod has their little dialect that differs from the main language... like Australia vs. New Orleans vs. New York, etc. They all speak the same language: English, but they have different phrases and ways of saying each word. That's just my thought on the matter... I don't know if it's right... (In bio class, whenever a question comes up like this, one of those big unanswered questions, someone always goes: "Who needs a science fair project?" And it's countered with: "Who needs a research grant?" sorry... non sequitor funny story ) Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=1816
Temat: Dyed fish to remain legal ...(can't remember which one) about fish feeling pain. They gave solid proof that fish could feel the pain of a fish hook, and therefore that fishing was unethical. Well...people are creul and don't care about anything that doesn't live in the same place as them (ie. on land, not water) it makes me so mad... Not necessarily true. People are complaining all the time about saving the whales, and they live in the water. It's that people don't consider fish intelligent (which my science fair project disproved) and that they practically aren't living or thinking. Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=1598
Temat: Evolution vs. Creationism Yeah, but frozen... and the ozone layer is our greenhouse... if we can stop destroying it! My science fair project was about how the hole in the ozone is letting in too much UV-B, which is harmful to the phytoplankton, and inhibits their ability to photosynthisize... (sorry, I definately spelled that wrong) Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=1768
Temat: I prove that fish are intelligent That sounds so cool I'm looking into working with an octopus for my next year's science fair project... (Nothing that would hurt it, though...) Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=1644
Temat: What do YOU think about those tiny animals called plankton.. Last year i collected plankton from three diffrent locations for my science fair project. While i was researching i found that i really liked them.
although it probably would get boring in time. Źródło: planktonforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=4018
